Suzanne S. Decker

Suzanne Decker’s childhood studies’ in art began with Frank Schoonover, an artist of the Brandywine tradition and a contemporary of N.C. Wyeth and Thomas Eakins. Her first recognition as an artist came as a high school senior when she designed the award-winning float from Pennsylvania for the Miss America Pageant in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Suzanne then went on to study art at the University of Syracuse where she was an honor student and then graduated from Northwestern University in Chicago where she received her degree. Suzanne, having been an Equestrian competing in the “A” Circuit in open jumping and hunting events and has always been close to horses. Her paintings reflect her love of animals and nature.

In 1987, Suzanne went on to study with Richard Cueves in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico and Johanna Barnes in Acapulco, Mexico. She has been featured in many galleries across the United States.
