About the Artist
Suzanne Decker’s childhood studies’ in art began with Frank Schoonover, an artist of the Brandywine tradition and a contemporary of N.C. Wyeth and Thomas Eakins. Her first recognition as an artist came as a high school senior when she designed the first-prize-winning float from Pennsylvania for the Miss America Pageant in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
Suzanne then went on to study art at the University of Syracuse where she was an honor student and then graduated from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois where she received her degree. Suzanne competed in the “A” circuit in open jumping and 3-day events and has always been close to horses. Her paintings reflect her love of animals and nature.
She has been featured in many galleries and museum shows across the United States.
